George Emerson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. George has recently served as the Director of Quality at Steep Hill since April 2017. Prior to that, they worked at Mettler-Toledo Rainin, LLC from an unknown start date until 2017, where they held the position of Metrologist/Quality Engineer. George was responsible for maintaining calibration standards, analyzing measurement uncertainty, managing external vendors, and engaging with customers. George also worked as a Business Analyst at Blake Austin College from an unknown start date until 2015. George's long-term experience includes managerial and project management roles at Genentech from 1997 to 2014, where they focused on implementing and administering quality and progress management systems. Before that, they served as a Maintenance Manager at Boehringer Mannheim in 1996. From 1993 to 1996, they worked as a Metrologist at Genentech. George started their career as an Electronics Technician and Supervisor in the United States Navy from 1983 to 1992. In 1992, George was employed by Baxter Healthcare Corporation as a Metrology/Instrument Technician, where they established an in-house calibration program and implemented a Computerized Calibration Management System.
George Emerson completed the Genentech Quality Certification Program in 2011, earning a certificate in Quality. Prior to that, they obtained a Certificate in Facilities Management and Maintenance from California State University at Hayward between 1993 and 1994. George also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Electronics Technology and Sociology from The University of the State of New York, now known as Excelsior College, which they received between 1991 and 1994.
