Frank Fitzek has an extensive work experience, starting with their role as a Co-Founder at Nokia where they worked as a Researcher at NIN from an unknown start date until August 2010. Frank then worked as a Co-Founder at Steinwurf, Code On Technologies, Chocolate Cloud ApS, and acticom GmbH from 2010 onwards. In 2014, they joined TU Dresden as a Full Professor and also became a Co-Founder of Wandelbots in December 2017. Additionally, they started their own company, 23numbers, in April 2016. Prior to these roles, they were a Prof. Dr.-Ing. at Aalborg University since December 2003.

Frank Fitzek completed their education in electrical engineering. Frank first attended RWTH Aachen University from 1992 to 1997, where they received a Dipl.-Ing degree in both electrical engineering and electrical and electronics engineering. Frank then went on to Technische Universität Berlin from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a Dr.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering. Additionally, in 2000, Fitzek briefly studied at Arizona State University, specializing in electrical engineering and attaining a PhD.
