Fernando B. Guerra, P.Eng. has a diverse work experience in the steel industry. Fernando most recently held the role of Op. Technology & Innovation Manager - Steelmaking & Casting at STELCO - The Steel Company of Canada since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as Op. Technology & Innovation Manager - Hot Rolling & Finishing from April 2022 to January 2023. Fernando also served as a Process Engineering Specialist - Steelmaking & Casting from March 2019 to May 2022, and as a Quality Engineer - Steelmaking and Casting from October 2017 to March 2019, both at STELCO.

Before joining STELCO, Fernando worked at Gerdau as a Routine Facilitator- Melt Shop for a brief period from July 2017 to October 2017. At Gerdau, they also held the position of Senior Process Engineer - Slab Caster / Steelmaking from October 2016 to April 2017, and Operations Manager - Bloom-Beam Blank and Billet Casters from October 2011 to October 2016. Fernando started their career at Gerdau as a Process Metallurgist (Management Associate) – Steelmaking Technology from January 2010 to December 2011.

Earlier in their career, Fernando worked as a Metallurgical Engineer at Technip in 2009, an Engineering Intern – Wire Rolling Mill at ArcelorMittal in 2008, an Engineering Intern – Steelmaking & Casting at USIMINAS in 2007, and an Engineering Intern at Vale from October 2006 to July 2007. overall, Fernando B. Fernando B. Guerra, P.Eng. has a diverse education history. Fernando obtained their Master of Engineering - MEng degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Toronto in the years 2020-2021. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas between 2012 and 2014.

In their earlier academic years, Fernando Guerra attended UFOP - Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto and completed their Engineer's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from 2004 to 2008. Additionally, they participated in an International Student program at Technische Universität Dresden in 2008, specializing in the Materials Engineering department.
