Hungwei (Henry) Liu has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Hungwei (Henry) started their career as a Coast Guard and Telecom operator/technician at the Coast Guard Administration of Taiwan from November 2005 to February 2007. In 2008, they joined Dalhousie University, where they held several roles including Graduate Student Researcher, Teaching Assistant, PhD Researcher, and Postdoctoral Researcher. During this time, they conducted research on topics such as prealloyed TiAl synthesis, intermetallic phase transformations, and liquid phase sintering mechanisms. Hungwei (Henry) also published articles on these subjects, contributing to the scientific community's understanding of TiAl alloys. In 2018, they worked as a Corrosion Technologist at CanmetMATERIALS, Natural Resources Canada. In 2020, they joined CanmetMATERIALS of Natural Resources Canada as a Research Technologist before transitioning to STELCO - The Steel Company of Canada. At STELCO, they initially worked as an Analytical Chemist before being promoted to the role of Laboratory Metallurgist in June 2021.
Hungwei (Henry) Liu obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering from Dalhousie University. Hungwei (Henry) then pursued higher education at the same university, earning a Master's Degree in Materials Engineering from 2009 to 2011. Continuing their academic journey, Liu completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Engineering at Dalhousie University from 2011 to 2016.
