Lewyn Valladares, P.Eng. has a diverse work experience in the engineering and steel industry. Lewyn started their career at T.I. Automotive as a Production Team Member and Standby Operator in 2012. Lewyn then worked as an Engineering Student at ArcelorMittal Dofasco in the Tin Mill department from 2014 to 2015.

In 2016, they joined STELCO - The Steel Company of Canada where they have held multiple roles. Currently, they are working as a Process Development Researcher - Steelmaking. In this role, they are responsible for troubleshooting and improvements for the Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) Charge Model. Lewyn is also leading the Stelco Inclusion Analysis project, focusing on all aspects of the company's clean steel capabilities and improvements. Additionally, they provide technical support as the process Metallurgy specialist for various areas including the BOF, Scrap Yard, Secondary Steel making, Ladle Treatment Station, and Vacuum Degasser. Lewyn is the process design specialist for new steel grade development and provides 24/7 coverage for processing issues and trials.

In 2019, Lewyn took on a part-time Industrial Master's program through Stelco at McMaster University, where they focused on inclusion development, classification, and modification for calcium treated steel.

Lewyn Valladares, P.Eng. holds a Master's degree in Materials Engineering from McMaster University, which they obtained from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering from the same institution, completing it from 2011 to 2016. Alongside their educational achievements, they have also obtained several additional certifications. Lewyn is a Professional Engineer (PE), having been certified by Professional Engineers Ontario in October 2022. In May 2019, they received a certification from the National Resources Canada as a Non-Destructive Testing Certification Body. Furthermore, in February 2018, they obtained an ISO 9001 with Focus on IATF 16949 Internal Auditor certification from SAI Global Assurance.
