Marcus A. Vasquez

Marcus A. Vasquez, CRCM has a strong background in the banking and compliance industry. Marcus A. currently holds the position of Executive Vice President and Director of Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and Community Development at Stellar Bank, where they have been working since 2023.

Prior to joining Stellar Bank, Vasquez held various roles at Allegiance Bank. Marcus A. served as the Executive Vice President and Director of CRA and Community Development from 2015 to 2023. Before that, they were the SVP and Director of Fair Banking and Community Development Lending Officer from 2021 to 2022. Marcus A. also worked as the VP, Fair Banking Officer from 2016 to 2021 and as a Compliance Officer from 2015 to 2021.

Vasquez's earlier experience includes working at Woodforest National Bank, where they were the AVP - CRA Officer and Fair Lending Officer from 2011 to 2015. Marcus A. also worked at the U.S. Department of the Treasury-Office of Thrift Supervision as a Federal Compliance Regulator-Federal Bank Examiner from 2007 to 2011. In this role, they conducted examinations to ensure compliance with banking laws and regulations, with a specialization in consumer compliance, fair lending, CRA, and other related areas.

Throughout their career, Vasquez has demonstrated expertise in compliance, community development, fair banking, and CRA.

Marcus A. Vasquez, CRCM completed their B.B.A degree in Banking and Financial Institutions from Sam Houston State University in the years 2002-2006. Marcus A. also holds a certification as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) obtained from the American Bankers Association in the year 2023.
