Alok Goyal

Partner at Stellaris Venture Partners

When Alok isn’t busy being involved with investment projects in Software, Logistics and Hardware, one can often see him ensuring the adequate ‘supply’ of much-adored snacks in the office premises, and of course, seeing to it that the fun levels at work never drop below optimum levels.

His interest in venture capital stems from the energy he derives in meetings with entrepreneurs. Moreover, he strongly believes that in order to be an entrepreneur, one needs to be a dreamer, and indeed be foolish (read courageous) enough to pursue the dream. According to Alok, the ability to pursue one’s dreams in an unfettered way is what makes entrepreneurs truly special, and so, he believes that there is something to be learned from every entrepreneur.

Alok’s previous endeavors included leading enterprise software and outsourcing investments at Helion, where he invested in Whatfix, Axtria, Pipemonk (ACQD: Freshdesk) and Linguanext (ACQD: Fidel Technologies). In addition, Alok was previously involved in various leadership roles at SAP in India and the US, as well as a series of roles at Siebel Systems, The McKenna Group, McKinsey & Company, and Cadence Design Systems.

Alok is one of the founding trustees of CAPED, an NGO focused on awareness, prevention and early detection of cervical cancer in India. Alok is also one of the founders of Plaksha, India’s largest collective philanthropy effort to create a new ground-up university in Mohali to reimagine technology education and research.

He holds a B.Tech degree in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT Delhi, a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA from INSEAD.
