Jessica Winn

Jessica Winn is a dedicated education and conservation professional currently serving as a Mathematics Science Tutor at Herschel Girls School since January 2024. As a co-founder of Science Saves Sharks since April 2022, Jessica is committed to making scientific work more accessible and actively participating in conservation efforts. Academic contributions include roles as an Academic Tutor and Laboratory Research Assistant at Stellenbosch University, where freelance laboratory work has involved testing PCR diagnostic assays. Jessica was also an Executive Committee Member for the AgriScience Student Association, focusing on postgraduate integration and event organization. Previous tutoring experience includes second and third-year Genetics and Biometry at Unlock Tutors. Jessica holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Genetics, pursuing studies at Stellenbosch University, along with additional certifications in financial management from GetSmarter and a Bachelor of Science degree from Stellenbosch University.
