Yansong Gao

Dr. Yansong Gao serves as General Manager of Jiuzhitang Maker (Beijing) Cell Technology Co., Ltd. Dr. Gao started his career as Deputy Director of Biotechnology and Medicine Research Center, Cross-strait Tsinghua Research Institute based in Fujian province of China. Due to the remarkable contributions Dr. Gao made to advancing development in the biosciences industry of Fujian province while working there, he was awarded the title of “Type B High-Level Talents Imported from Abroad” by Fujian province and another title of “High-Level Talents Returning from Overseas Studies” by Xiamen city, the provincial capital of Fujian in 2017.

Dr. Gao formerly led a key research and development program initiated by Beijing Science Commission and an APEC project. He also participated in work with one NIH-funded project, two projects under China’s National Key Basic Research and Development Plan, and another 4 projects on natural sciences and innovation.

Dr. Gao holds a PhD degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from School of Life Sciences, Tsinghua University, with research interests being protein folding mechanism and interactions. While doing post-doctoral studies at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Gao investigated the molecular and physiological mechanism of the metabolic signaling pathway for cholesterol under guidance of Drs. Michael Brown & Joseph Goldstein, 1985 Nobel Prize Laureates in Physiology and Medicine.
