David Hay

David Hay has a diverse work experience spanning across different organizations and roles. David is the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Stimuliver since September 2021. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at The University of Edinburgh, including Chair of Tissue Engineering, Reader, and Senior Research Fellow, where they focused on defining novel ways to produce liver tissue from pluripotent stem cells. David also co-founded and served as a Director at Stemnovate, a company specializing in innovative technologies for drug screening and safety testing. In addition, they co-founded and served as a Director at HigherSteaks, where they utilized state-of-the-art cell culture techniques to create meat products. David was a Visiting Professor at Trinity College Dublin, collaborating on innate immunity in stem cell-derived hepatocytes. David served as the Chief Scientific Officer and Director at FIBROMED LIMITED and held research fellow positions at the Roslin Institute and the University of St Andrews. David's expertise lies in tissue engineering, stem cells, and cell culture techniques.

David Hay earned a BSc in Biochemistry and Microbiology from the University of St Andrews, where they attended from 1992 to 1996. David further pursued their education at the same university and obtained a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from 1996 to 2000.
