Niklas J.r.m. Schmidt

Niklas J.R.M. Schmidt is a distinguished tax partner and head of tax at WOLF THEISS Attorneys at Law since August 2000. As the founder of both the AI Lab for Lawyers and WT Crypto Academy, Schmidt has been at the forefront of integrating technology in legal practices since 2023 and 2020, respectively. Schmidt serves as the chair of the STEP Digital Assets Special Interest Group and has held significant roles within the International Bar Association, including past chair and co-chair of the Private Client Tax Committee. Additionally, Schmidt is a member of the advisory board for the Digital Asset Association Austria and a senior member at St Hugh’s College in Oxford. With a solid academic background, Schmidt holds multiple degrees, including a Dr. iur. and various qualifications in financial strategy and management, alongside dual admissions as an attorney-at-law and tax advisor in Austria.
