Amy Yount

Amy Yount, MBA, CPA, CCAP has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and industries. Amy is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Step Up Suncoast, a position they have held since September 2021. Prior to their current role, Amy served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Step Up Suncoast since August 2006.

Amy has also worked as an Assistant Controller (Accountant II) at Western Carolina University from May 2004 to April 2006.

Before joining Western Carolina University, Amy held the position of Fiscal Director at Step Up Suncoast. In this role, they were responsible for various accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, budgeting, and financial reporting. Amy also implemented new fiscal policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls and improve audit outcomes. Additionally, Amy played a key role in implementing new software for fund accounting and fixed asset management.

Amy's earlier experiences include working as a Senior Accountant at Kerkering Barberio from November 1998 to February 2000, serving as a Fiscal Officer at the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority from 1996 to 1998, and working as an Auditor at the Kentucky Auditor of Public Accounts from 1995 to 1996. Amy began their career as an Accountant at J Sutherland PSC in 1994 and later worked as a Staff Accountant at Kelly King & Co. CPA's from 1992 to 1994.

Overall, Amy Yount has a strong background in finance and accounting, with extensive experience in leadership positions and a proven track record of implementing effective financial management practices.

Amy Yount has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, Executive Leadership from Southeastern University, which they completed from 2014 to 2017. Amy also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accountancy from the University of Louisville, which they obtained from 1988 to 1992. Additionally, Amy Yount has attended Centre College in 1987 and Stetson University in 1985-1986, where they studied Mathematics. Amy completed their high school education at Frankfort High School from 1981 to 1985. Amy Yount has obtained the Certified Community Action Professional certification from The Community Action Partnership in 2020 and holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Commonwealth of Kentucky - State Board of Accountancy since 1994.
