Hesam Tahami

Hesam Tahami, CFA, PhD, currently serves as an Associate AI Scientist at StepStone Group, a position held since July 2024. Previously, from August 2017 to August 2025, Hesam worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Old Dominion University, where extensive contributions were made in both quantitative and operations research. In the field of quantitative research, notable work included modeling stock returns and applying machine learning algorithms to financial data analysis. In operations research, efforts were focused on optimizing electric vehicle routing and addressing logistical challenges through advanced mathematical modeling and artificial intelligence. Hesam holds two PhDs—one in Business Administration with a focus on Finance and another in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering—both obtained from Old Dominion University, along with a Master's degree and Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology.
