Philip Orton

Philip Orton is a Research Associate Professor and Research Scientist at Stevens Institute of Technology, focusing on oceanography and meteorology in the New York City metropolitan area since October 2010. Prior to this role, Philip earned a PhD in physical oceanography from Columbia University, where studies were conducted from September 2004 to July 2010. During this period, Philip also worked as a graduate student at The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. Earlier professional experience includes serving as a research associate at Oregon Health and Science University from January 1998 to October 2003.
