Charles Johnston

Charlie Johnston is an industry veteran with over 35 years of experience in the wealth management industry. He previously served as President and CEO of Smith Barney before managing the merger with Morgan Stanley, the largest ever in the brokerage business. As President of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, he oversaw $1.7 trillion in assets under management and was responsible for leading one of the nation's top private wealth management businesses. Prior to that, Mr. Johnston served as the CEO and President of Citi Smith Barney and Citi Global Wealth Management.

Mr. Johnston started his career in 1978 as a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch in Chicago. He later joined Lehman, Kuhn, Loeb as a Financial Consultant in 1982, where he served as a Sales Trainer until 1985.

Today, Mr. Johnston owns and operates Johnston Properties, a real estate investment firm which focuses on owning assets with increasing cash flows. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Bank Leumi US, the US subsidiary of Israel’s largest bank.

Mr. Johnston earned his B.S. in Marketing and Finance in 1976 from Purdue University.
