Clive Fenton

Clive joined the business in February 2019 bringing with him over 35 years of leadership experience in the housebuilding sector. His role of Non-Executive Director is to support the Chairman and the Board in setting the strategic direction for the Group and providing independent oversight and constructive challenge to the Executive Directors.

He initially qualified as a Chartered Accountant and has held senior financial and operational positions in some of the UK’s largest house builders including Barratt Developments Plc and, more latterly, as Chief Executive Officer at McCarthy & Stone Plc.

Clive believes that recruiting and retaining the best people and buying quality land is always the recipe for success in the industry. He values integrity and the importance of “doing the right thing” to ensure the business benefits all stakeholders.

Clive’s fascination with the way house building has the power to transform people’s lives was initially inspired by his first boss at Barratt. At the job interview in 1983 in Stratford in East London he led Clive over to the office window which overlooked a sea of dereliction but which, many years later, was to become the setting for the Olympic Games and said “That’s our opportunity”
