Liz Edelstein, MD, FACEP, FAWM has a diverse range of work experience in the field of medicine. Liz currently serves as the Medical Director for Yellowstone National Park at STGi since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Medcor as the Medical Director for Midway Atoll since 2020, and also served as the Medical Director for Yellowstone National Park Clinics from 2020 to 2022. Dr. Edelstein has been an Emergency Medicine Physician at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus since 2018. Liz has also held various roles at the Wilderness Medical Society, including Associate Editor and Board Member. Additionally, they have worked as a Supervising Physician at Yellowstone National Park Medical Clinics in 2019. Dr. Edelstein has extensive involvement with wilderness medicine, as they served as the WMS Elective Co-Director from 2010 to 2019, providing education and training on wilderness and environmental medicine. Liz has also held positions at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, including Director of Undergraduate Medical Education (EM) from 2016 to 2018, and Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine from 2011 to 2014. In addition, Dr. Edelstein has experience in disaster preparedness, as they served as the Physician Director for Disaster Preparedness at Kaiser Permanente in 2015 and 2016. Throughout their career, Dr. Edelstein has made significant contributions to the field of emergency medicine and wilderness medicine.
Liz Edelstein, MD, FACEP, FAWM has an education history that includes a BA in Neuroscience from Oberlin College, which they obtained between the years 1993 and 1997. Liz then pursued a degree in Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University from 1999 to 2003. Additionally, they have obtained certification in Emergency Medicine from the American Board of Emergency Medicine in January 2019.

We provide critical medical services to correctional populations; primary care, women's health, mental health and ancillary services to our Nation's veterans in rural clinics; and critical training, technical assistance and grants management services to Head Start programs nationwide, supporting the school readiness and health development of children from low-income families.
