Military Operations Analyst (Mid-Tier) at STI-TEC

Merl McKerrow has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of satellite communications. Starting in 2001, they worked as a Senior SATCOM Network Controller and supervisor, responsible for transmission and payload control of Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) satellites. They also served as a Senior Network Controller and Supervisor, managing the operations and maintenance of a $35 million Wideband SATCOM Operations Center (WSOC) facility.

From 2004 to 2005, McKerrow served as a SATCOM Facilities Manager, responsible for scheduling preventive maintenance and demand maintenance of a Defense Satellite Communications System Operations Center. They provided technical assistance and conducted training for personnel.

In 2005, McKerrow became the Senior Network Controller and Supervisor, overseeing the transmission and payload control of three DSCS satellites. They also certified personnel on Electronic Counter-Countermeasure (ECCM) network control.

From 2007 to 2008, McKerrow served as the Personnel and Logistic Supervisor and Maintenance Manager for a $35 million WSOC facility, ensuring reliable communications for the U.S. Government and Allied Forces.

From 2008 to 2011, McKerrow worked as a DISA Satellite Communications Systems Manager, responsible for the operational control and direction of four Defense SATCOM System networks. They also trained Assistant SATCOM Managers.

In 2011, McKerrow served as the 3rd Infantry Division (3ID) G6 SATCOM Operations and Network Operations Manager, managing satellite access requests and tactical C4I services.

From 2012 to 2013, McKerrow worked as the SATCOM Operations Manager for Combined Joint Task Force-3 (CJTF-3) and supervised the staffing and execution of authorized service interruptions.

From 2013 to 2014, McKerrow managed the 3rd Infantry Division (3ID) Tactical Hub Node (THN) and ensured the readiness and deployment of C4I systems.

From 2014 to 2017, McKerrow served as a Senior Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Manager.

More recently, in 2019, McKerrow became the Regional Hub Node Senior (RHN) Operations Manager and Facilities Manager, responsible for training and managing personnel in the daily operations of the Guam Regional Hub Node.

Currently, since 2020, McKerrow works as a Military Operations Analyst (Mid-Tier) for Solutions Through Innovative Technologies, Inc., providing support to the Operational Program Manager under the USA-AUS Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) and Combined Communication Gateway Geraldton (C2G2) Memorandum of Understandings (MOU).

Merl McKerrow attended Colorado Technical University from 2015 to 2017, where they earned an Associate of Science degree in Information Technology. Later, from 2017 to 2020, they continued their studies at the same university and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Information Technology.
