Field Application Scientist at Stilla Technologies

Laras Pitayu has a diverse work experience spanning from 2007 to the present. Their most recent position is as a Field Application Scientist at Stilla Technologies, a role they started in 2022. Prior to this, Laras worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Institut Jacques Monod/CNRS & University Paris Diderot from February 2017 to January 2022. In this role, they focused on studying chromosome segregation during meiosis in C. elegans, carrying out tasks such as routine RNA production, development of 3D-analysis from live microscopic images, and mentoring students.

Before their postdoctoral position, Laras worked as a Research Engineer at Université Paris-Saclay from March 2016 to January 2017, where they focused on drug screening for mitochondrial diseases. They also held the role of Pre-clinical Research Scientist - PhD project at Université Paris-Saclay from September 2011 to September 2015, working on mitochondrial disorders and Polymerase-γ mutation, carrying out disease modeling, chemical library screening, project reporting within the Project Consortium, and mentoring students.

Laras also has prior internships at BADAN PENGAWAS OBAT DAN MAKANAN in 2008 and PT. KIMIA FARMA, TBK in 2008. In addition, they worked as a Master research trainee at Paris-Sud University in 2011 and as a Bachelor research trainee at Institut Teknologi Bandung in 2007, where they focused on different projects related to genetic research and species identification.

Laras Pitayu's education history begins with a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from Institut Teknologi Bandung, which was achieved between 2003 and 2007. They then pursued a Professional Diploma in Pharmacy at the same institution from 2007 to 2008. Later on, Laras attended Paris-Sud University (Paris XI) between 2009 and 2011, obtaining a Master's degree in Biologie Santé. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Biology at the same university from 2011 to 2014.
