Ishmael Bentley

Ishmael Bentley has a diverse work experience in the medical industry. Their most recent position is as the Vice President of Research and Development at Stimdia Medical, Inc, starting in November 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Clinical and R&D Consultant at SCRA: South Carolina Research Authority, where they played a key role in the development of a novel biologic spinal implant. Ishmael also acted as the surgeon liaison and primary user in pre-clinical studies.

In 2013, Ishmael started their own business, M-Theory Martial Arts, where they served as the owner. Ishmael has also worked in various positions at different companies, including St. Teresa Medical, Alucent Biomedical, Inc., Cartiva, Inc., Kspine, Anulex Technologies, and ValenTx. Notably, at ValenTx, they served as the VP of R&D and was responsible for vendor relation management, developing training programs, and leading the overhaul of implant and instrument designs. At Anulex Technologies, they held multiple roles, including VP of R&D, Director of R&D, Project Manager, Senior R&D Engineer, and R&D Engineer.

Throughout their career, Ishmael has gained expertise in areas such as technical and clinical advisory, intellectual property and regulatory strategies, design controls, market tracking, and product testing and validation.

Ishmael continued their education at Morehead State University from 1991 to 1997, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics.

From 1994 to 1997, they studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kentucky and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree.

Finally, from 1997 to 1999, Ishmael Bentley attended Clemson University and completed their education with a Master of Science (MS) degree in Bio-Engineering.
