Country Director at STIR Education

Karema Modern Musiimenta has diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Karema started their career as a Verification Assistant at the National Social Security Fund in 2004 and later became a Research & Projects Coordinator at Malaria-TB-HIV Concern. Karema then worked as a Data Management Officer and Branch Operations Supervisor at the National Social Security Fund. In 2011, they became the General Manager at JOB CONNECT UGANDA LTD, where they worked until 2015. Karema then worked as a Managing Consultant at Labour Management Consult (U) Ltd for a year before joining Educate! as a Programs Manager. Karema progressed to become the Head of Program Implementation and subsequently the Head of National Programs. In 2020, they joined STIR Education as the Country Director.

Karema Modern Musiimenta pursued their education starting from 1996 to 2000 at Mbarara High School, where they obtained a Certificate of Education in Arts and Sciences. Karema then continued their studies from 2001 to 2002 at the same institution, completing their Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education, with a focus on History, Economics, Literature, and Divinity. Finally, they attended Makerere University from 2003 to 2006, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences) HONS degree. During their time at Makerere University, Karema studied Organisational Management, Human Resource Management, and Political Science.
