Richard Klein

Senior Research Fellow at SEI — Stockholm Environment Institute

Richard Klein is a distinguished expert in climate risk and adaptation, currently serving as a Senior Research Fellow and Team Leader at the Stockholm Environment Institute since August 2006. Klein has held various leadership positions within SEI, including roles in the Research Directorate and as Theme Leader for Reducing Climate Risk. Additionally, Klein is a Visiting Professor at Linköpings universitet and previously directed science and innovation at the Global Center on Adaptation. Past experience includes serving as Co-Director and Chief Scientist at NORD-STAR and as a Senior Researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. Klein's academic credentials include a PhD in Geography from Kiel University, an MSc in Environmental Economics and Risk Management from the University of East Anglia, and an MSc in Quaternary Geology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
