Cara E. Bowman

Cara Bowman is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology at Stonehill College since July 2022, following a previous role as a Lecturer at the same institution from September 2016 to 2020. Cara has extensive teaching experience, having served as an Instructor at The Bar Method Boston from June 2014 to 2020 and in various teaching capacities at Boston University from 2008 to 2016, culminating in a PhD candidacy in Sociology. The dissertation focused on parental decision-making regarding resources to support children's economic success, intersecting areas of inequality, family, education, and consumption. Cara also contributed as a Peer Mentor in the Dissertation Success Program at the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity in early 2016 and held the position of National Network Coordinator at Citizen Schools from 2005 to 2007. Educational credentials include a PhD in Sociology from Boston University and a B.A. in Sociology and Spanish from Trinity College-Hartford.
