Vaibhavi Umesh began their work experience in 2012 as a Junior Research Specialist at the Kumar Lab in the Department of Bioengineering at UC Berkeley. Vaibhavi worked in this role from August 2012 to July 2014. In 2017, they joined Stony Brook Medicine as a Resident Physician in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Vaibhavi held this position until April 2022. In September 2021, they took on the role of Director of Obstetrics Quality Improvement at Stony Brook Medicine.

Vaibhavi Umesh completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2010. Vaibhavi also pursued Master's degrees in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering, with a focus on Translational Medicine, from the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, San Francisco from 2010 to 2012. In 2014, they earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Albany Medical College, specializing in Clinical Medicine. Vaibhavi is currently attending Stony Brook University Graduate School, pursuing a Master of Health Care Administration degree in the field of Health/Health Care Administration/Management, which they are expected to complete in 2025.
