Avishka Shamendra

Avishka Shamendra is a graduate student and teaching assistant at Stony Brook University since August 2025. Previously, Avishka held positions as a senior software engineer and software engineer at WSO2 from July 2023 to August 2025. Prior experience includes an undergraduate tenure at the University of Moratuwa from October 2018 to July 2023, along with a software engineer internship at WSO2 from December 2021 to August 2022 and an internship at iXD Labs from May 2020 to April 2021. Avishka earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Moratuwa (2018-2022), a Certificate in Management Accounting from Wisdom Business Academy (2018-2019), and completed G.C.E Advanced Level studies in Physical Sciences at Nalanda College Colombo (2004-2017).
