Brandon Bjertnes, LMHC, has extensive experience in mental health counseling and academic advising. Since March 2016, Brandon has operated a private practice as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. In addition to private practice, Brandon has served as Lead Academic Advisor and ADV 101 Coordinator at Stony Brook University since January 2015, where responsibilities include supporting veteran students. Prior to this, from August 2013 to January 2015, Brandon worked as an Academic Advisor and SEEK Counselor at Brooklyn College, managing the academic progress of over 150 underrepresented students. Brandon's career also includes roles at the American Cancer Society, where management of community health initiatives took place, and at BiasHELP, Inc., where outreach and violence prevention efforts were coordinated. Brandon's educational credentials include a Master of Education and Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Stony Brook University.
