Matthew Whitaker possesses extensive experience in the field of high-pressure geosciences, currently serving as a Partner User Beamline Scientist at Stony Brook University since July 2011, where responsibilities include scientific support, development of new techniques, and management of experimental operations. Prior experience includes roles as an Assistant Professor at Ehime University, focusing on high-pressure research and education for doctoral candidates, as well as a Post-Doctoral Fellow specializing in acoustic measurements of Earth materials. Matthew's early career at Stony Brook University included dissertation research as a Graduate Assistant and teaching roles at SUNY New Paltz. Matthew holds a Ph.D. in Geosciences from Stony Brook University and a B.S. in Geological Sciences from SUNY New Paltz.
