Tatu Tanskanen

Tatu Tanskanen has diverse work experience in various industries, including Stora Enso, Neles, UPM - The Biofore Company, Fläkt Woods Group, Demola/Konecranes, YIT Rakennus Oy, and The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lempäälä. At Stora Enso, Tatu served as a Business Controller & Team Lead, responsible for biomaterials pulp topline items in actuals reporting and rolling forecasts, as well as business controlling activities in the sales and supply chain area. Tatu also worked as a Business Controller at Stora Enso, focusing on sales and supply chain controlling in the biomaterials division.

At Neles, Tatu held the position of Business Controller, responsible for project business and Finland & Baltics sales. Tatu was a part of the management team and provided weekly and monthly management reporting, supported decision-making from a finance perspective, and developed management reporting and analyses. Additionally, Tatu was involved in credit controlling for the market area.

During their tenure at UPM - The Biofore Company, Tatu worked as a Financial Controller and Assistant Controller, where they performed complex GL and CO transactions, handled complex closing tasks, generated and analyzed MA reports, and managed accounting and business reporting tasks. At Fläkt Woods Group, Tatu served as a Project Engineer/Controller, responsible for financial modeling, project cost/capex controlling, financial forecasting, scheduling, and budgeting.

Tatu also gained experience as a Project Manager at Demola/Konecranes, leading a product development project and performing tasks such as cross-cultural team management, product development and planning, project management and planning, and presentations. Before that, Tatu worked as a Construction Worker at YIT Rakennus Oy and as a Youth Worker at The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lempäälä.

Tatu Tanskanen has a strong educational background in industrial management and engineering. Tatu completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.(Tech.)) in Industrial Management & Engineering from Tampere University of Technology in 2006 and went on to pursue their Master of Science (M.Sc.(Tech.)) in the same field from the same university, which they successfully completed in 2014. In between their studies, they also participated in an exchange program at Bishop's University in 2010-2011, where they focused on human resources and business management. Prior to their university education, Tatu attended the Finnish Air Force Technical School in 2005-2006, where they completed the Aviation Technical Mechanic NCO course as an Assistant Aircraft Mechanic for the F-18 Hornet. In addition to their formal education, Tatu has obtained additional certifications, including the Business Translator program from Combient Mix and the Elements of AI program from the University of Helsinki.
