Jeff Caplan has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Jeff began their career at Ernst & Young in 1979 as a trainee accountant before becoming a Chartered Accountant in 1982. Jeff then worked as an Audit Supervisor, gaining experience in insurance and retail sectors. In 1984, Jeff joined Mothercare as a Financial Accountant, where they implemented financial controls and improved stock management, leading to increased retail sales. Jeff moved on to Duty Free Shoppers in 1987, taking on the role of Finance Director for their UK subsidiary. During their tenure, they established sales and accounting systems and navigated the complex Duty Free taxation regulations. In 1989, Jeff founded Storecheckers UK Ltd alongside Rena Shaw, focusing on Mystery Shopping, Market Research, and Training to enhance customer satisfaction and revenue for clients. As the Managing Director, they are responsible for strategic business development and key account management.
Jeff Caplan studied at the University of Hull from 1975 to 1979, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Accounting. Prior to that, they attended Stand Grammar in Whitefield, but no further information about that time period is available.
