Jan Tore Ynnesdal has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jan Tore currently holds the position of Tech Lead at StormGeo, a role they have been in since April 2023. Prior to this, Jan Tore served as the Development Manager at StormGeo, managing a global team of developers involved in frontend development, API creation, and weather forecasting systems. Jan Tore joined StormGeo as a Front End Developer in April 2014 and held the position until February 2019.
Before joining StormGeo, Jan Tore worked as a Web Developer at Ynnesdal IT-tjenester starting in May 2006. Jan Tore then joined NextGenTel in January 2008 as a Web Developer responsible for various websites, including external and internal. Jan Tore eventually became the Web Manager at NextGenTel in March 2013.
Jan Tore began their professional career in 2001 as a Consultant at Reaktor Personal (IT-Vikar Bergen) and later held the role of Programmer at Munck Cranes in the same year. Jan Tore continued their programming work at Munck Cranes in 2002. From October 2002 to December 2007, they served as the Project Supervisor and Webmaster at Høgskulen på Vestlandet, where they worked closely with web editors and stakeholders on website development and maintenance.
Throughout their career, Jan Tore has gained expertise in various programming languages, including PHP, HTML, CSS, and databases like MySQL. Jan Tore has strong skills in frontend development and has experience in managing international and distributed teams.
Jan Tore Ynnesdal obtained their BSc degree in Computer Engineering from the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, where they studied from 1998 to 2001. In 2001, they attended the University of Bergen (UiB) for a brief period, focusing on English and Informatics. Later in 2002, they attended Sør-Trøndelag University College (HiST) to further study Computer Engineering.
