Don is a retired Colonel and 29-year veteran of the United States Air Force. Over the course of his career, Don led organizations providing worldwide meteorological, oceanographic and space environmental support to interagency national security missions. As a senior leader, he provided executive leadership and guidance as the senior meteorological advisor for the United States Special Operations Command and, later, for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. Further, he commanded the Air Force’s meteorological high-performance computing center/numerical weather predication capability. In his last assignment, Don led the provision of full-spectrum weather operations for the 15-million-square-mile Eastern Launch and Test Range, ensuring safe national security and commercial spacelift operations launching from and returning to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
