Ian Crone serves as the Senior Vice President at STR since September 2025, following a significant tenure at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) where Ian held the roles of Deputy Director for the Advanced Capability Office and Program Manager from June 2022 to September 2025. Prior to this, Ian was the Director of Cyber Initiatives and Acting Principal Director for Cyber at the Office of the Secretary of Defense from July 2021 to June 2022, and also worked as a Program Manager at DARPA from June 2017 to March 2021. Earlier experience includes a role as Senior Analyst at SELF Corporation and as an Analyst/Project Officer in the United States Navy from February 2009 to September 2014. Ian's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Security Studies from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and History from Columbia University.
