Joseph Evans is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in computer engineering, particularly in networking. Currently serving as Vice President at STR since November 2021 and holding the title of Professor Emeritus and Distinguished Professor at The University of Kansas since 1989, Joseph has significantly contributed to research and education in the field. Notable previous roles include Technical Director for 5G at the United States Department of Defense, Program Manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and Chief Scientist at Ascend Intelligence, LLC. Joseph co-founded NetGames USA, Inc., which was acquired by Microsoft, and has served on various boards and councils, including the IEEE Communications Society. Joseph holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Lafayette College.
