Kristen Railey Kita is an accomplished engineer specializing in undersea systems and acoustics, currently serving as Lead Engineer at STR since November 2021. With a strong foundation built during a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Kristen focused research on acoustic noise sources in unmanned underwater vehicles. Prior experience includes a role as Assistant Staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, programming and testing undersea technology, and a Mechanical Engineering internship at BMW, where Kristen conducted vehicle tests. Kristen's educational journey at MIT also includes a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
