Nick Schade is a highly experienced scientist with a strong background in physics and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at STR since October 2020, Nick leads the development of optimization algorithms and integrates machine learning applications while overseeing mission testing and image analysis for novel sensing technologies. Previously, as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Chicago, Nick conducted significant research in nonlinear geometric Hall effects and mentored students in various advanced physics topics. Nick also has a notable tenure at Harvard University, where involvement included serving as a US Department of Energy Graduate Fellow and various teaching roles, contributing to pedagogy and curriculum development. Earlier in the career, experience included quantitative analysis for the US Air Force at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and teaching physics at Andover High School, significantly enhancing the curriculum. Nick holds a PhD and MA in Physics from Harvard University and a BSc in Mathematics-Physics from Brown University.
