Scott Wandel

Scott Wandel is a Senior Scientist and Lead Scientist at Systems & Technology Research since July 2020, with extensive experience in designing optical and mechanical systems for high-energy lasers in national defense applications. Prior to this role, Scott Wandel served as a Systems Engineer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where the focus was on optical phase control and laser performance measurement. At BAE Systems, Inc., Scott Wandel was a Senior Optical Engineer, responsible for building high-power lasers and mentoring entry-level engineers. Experience also includes a Research Associate position at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, where Scott Wandel designed advanced optical systems and developed next-generation radiation sources. Scott Wandel holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, with a notable publication record in ultrafast laser science.
