Dr. William Melvin is currently the Chief Scientist and Technical Fellow in the Sensors Division at Systems and Technology Research (STR). Previously, they served as Deputy Director for Research at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) and directed the Sensors and Intelligent Systems Directorate at GTRI, where they oversaw significant research activities and staff. Dr. Melvin has contributed extensively to sensor and counter-sensor technology development, authoring numerous papers and holding three US patents. They received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University and have been recognized with multiple awards for their contributions to the field.
