Rodrigo Sousa Uva

Rodrigo Sousa Uva has a diverse range of work experience in the field of dentistry. Rodrigo started their career as an Associate Dentist at Clínica Previlege in April 2015 but left after six months. From June 2013 to December 2016, they worked as an Associate Dentist at Centro Neuroftlamológico de Lisboa. In November 2015, Rodrigo joined Clínica do Mediterrâneo as an Associate Dentist but left in January 2021. Rodrigo then worked as an Associate Dentist at clinicageraldesbarba from September 2010 to June 2021.

Rodrigo held the role of Director of Orthodontic Quality Assurance and Dental Education at Straight Teeth Direct from February 2017 onwards. Rodrigo also worked as an Associate Dentist at SIMSMILE from December 2017 until June 2023. Rodrigo took on the position of Assistant Professor - Master in Orthodontics, Occlusion, and Orthognatic Surgery at Orthoquick starting in April 2019.

In October 2022, Rodrigo joined Clínica Pátio das Artes as an Associate Dentist, and in May 2023, they will begin working as an Associate Dentist at Clínica Santa Madalena. Throughout their career, Rodrigo has demonstrated expertise in various areas of dentistry and has taken on roles with increasing responsibility.

Rodrigo Sousa Uva has an extensive education history in the field of dentistry and orthodontics. Rodrigo began their educational journey at Egas Moniz School of Health & Science, where they obtained a Master's degree in Dentistry from 2005 to 2010.

After completing their initial dental education, Rodrigo pursued various postgraduate degrees and certifications to further specialize in orthodontics and implantology. In 2012, they obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in Implantology from UCL and a Post-graduate Degree in Implantology from Euroteknica Iberia Group in 2011.

Rodrigo's focus then shifted towards orthodontics. Rodrigo completed a Post Graduate Degree in Orthodontics/Orthodontology from Fundação Gnathos in 2012 and also pursued a Post-graduate Clinical Course in Orthodontics Residency Program from Orthoquick in 2017. Rodrigo further enhanced their orthodontic expertise by completing a Post-graduate Degree in Orthodontics/Orthodontology from Invisalign in 2017.

To complement their orthodontic knowledge, Rodrigo undertook a Master's degree in Orthodontics Residency Program from Udima Universidad a Distancia de Madrid from 2017 to 2019. Rodrigo also acquired a Postgraduate Degree in Interceptive and Myofunctional Orthodontics in Children from Orthoquick in 2020.

In their pursuit of advanced education, Rodrigo enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Biomedicine and Health Sciences at Universidad Europea starting in 2020, which is expected to continue until 2026. Additionally, they completed a Postgraduate Degree at the Medical University of Vienna in 2023, specializing in Occlusion and TMJ Dysfunction.

Throughout their education, Rodrigo Sousa Uva has obtained several certifications and memberships in professional organizations. Rodrigo became an Orthodontist certified by the Sociedade Portuguesa de Ortopedia dento-facial in 2020 and the European Aligner Society in 2019. Rodrigo also holds Associate Memberships with ITI - International Team for Implantology, the European Orthodontic Society, and the International Association for Dental Research.

Furthermore, Rodrigo has received certifications from ClearCorrect as a Clear Correct Provider, from Smilers as a Smilers Provider, and from the European Academy of Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction (EAOPD).

Lastly, Rodrigo has certifications as a General Dentist from the General Dental Council obtained in 2011, the Sociedade Portuguesa de Estomatologia e Medicina Dentária obtained in 2011, and the Ordem dos Médicos Dentistas obtained in 2010. Rodrigo also holds an Advanced Safeguarding Children certificate from NHS England, acquired in 2015.
