Brian Herndon

Brian Herndon joined Strata Clean Energy in 2015 as its General Counsel and continues to serve in that role. Formerly, Brian was a partner at the law firm of Blanco Tackabery, where he led its clean energy practice group. Under his leadership, the Blanco clean energy practice group became the go-to firm for renewable energy developers with North Carolina projects. In that role, Brian and his team assisted Strata in the development and financing of essentially all of its projects and in many other matters.

Brian’s law practice spans 35 years, with substantial experience in tax credit finance, commercial real estate finance, structured finance, business organizations and mergers and acquisitions to name a few. In addition to solar and energy storage, Brian has represented developers of landfill gas-to-energy, biomass and anaerobic digester projects. Brian holds a BA degree from North Carolina State University and is a magna cum laude graduate of the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
