Ryan Shay has over 12 years of experience in marketing, research, and product development. In 2006, they began their career as a Research Associate I at the J. Craig Venter Institute, where they were responsible for read data analysis and sequence assembly of prokaryotic genomes. Ryan was later promoted to Research Associate II, where they were responsible for extracting DNA from environmental filters and executing synthetic biology experiments. In 2008, they joined Harrison and Star as a Copywriter, managing brand responsibilities across indications for AVASTIN, a breakthrough biologic developed by Genentech. Ryan then moved to AgencyRx in 2009, where they served as Copy Supervisor and was responsible for contributing to digital marketing strategy and creating content for digital tactics. In 2012, they joined Giant Creative Strategy as Group Copy Supervisor and Lead Copywriter for XTANDI, a novel treatment for prostate cancer developed by Medivation. In 2014, they became Manager of Marketing at Practice Fusion, the largest cloud-based electronic health records system in the U.S. Ryan also engaged in freelance marketing work from 2015 to 2018. In 2018, they became Marketing Manager at PanTheryx, Inc., responsible for product marketing to healthcare professionals and launch planning for new medical foods and biologics. In 2019, they joined ArcherDX, Inc. as Global Product Marketing Manager, responsible for the launch and commercialization of STRATAFIDE, a pan-tumor, next generation sequencing companion diagnostic that was granted FDA breakthrough status in January 2019. In 2020, they became Senior Product Marketing Manager at Guardant Health. Currently, they are Director and Senior Manager of Market Access at Strata Oncology.
