Will Hampton

Will Hampton is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in local government and strategic communications. Currently serving as an Author at Good Government Files since June 2023, Will creates engaging content focused on local government topics. Will also holds the position of Senior Vice President at Strategic Government Resources and works as a Strategic Communications Consultant at DFW Strategic Communications, both since early 2022. Previously, Will was the Communications Director for the City of Round Rock, Texas, from 1998 to 2021, managing key aspects of citizen participation and media relations. Will began a career in journalism as an Editor for the Round Rock Leader from 1989 to 1998, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, News and Public Affairs Reporting from The University of Texas at Austin.
