Recently appointed as SIG’s Director of Institutional Investor Services, Marianne Dwight served for more than a decade as general counsel at the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company, a sovereign wealth fund of the State of Texas with over $65 billion of assets under management. At the Trust Company, she was in charge of legal and compliance requirements for all investments and served as a voting member of the investment committee that determined which investments were appropriate within the portfolio's return and risk guidelines. As a former institutional investor, Marianne participated in the investment process and understands how important it is to allocate monies to achieve target returns for the portfolio. As a public speaker, she has addressed issues relating to the investing industry including ESG principles, responsible governance, fiduciary obligations, private equity/portfolio company concerns, and transparency, as well as international water resource issues.
