Sam Garg

Associate Editor Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal at The Strategic Management Society

Sam Garg has a diverse range of work experience in academia and research. Their most recent position is as an Associate Professor at ESSEC Business School since 2023. Previously, they held roles at HKUST Business School as a Liwei Huang Associate Professor of Business and as an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship & Strategy. They also served as an Associate Editor for the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal at The Strategic Management Society. Sam Garg has been involved in various leadership roles, including as the Co-director of the Bachelor of Science in Biotech and Business program at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. They have extensive teaching experience, having held the position of Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship & Strategy at HKUST Business School from 2011 to 2019. In addition, Sam Garg has also served as a board member for the Rotary Club of Kowloon. They have conducted research as a Visiting Scholar at INSEAD and previously worked as a Research Associate at INSEAD from 2001 to 2005.

Sam Garg has a Ph.D. in Organizations, Technology, and Entrepreneurship from Stanford University. Sam also holds an M.A. in Sociology from Stanford University. Before attending Stanford, Sam completed their undergraduate studies at the National University of Singapore, where they earned a B.Eng. in Computer Engineering.
