Kurt Key

Kurt Key has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Kurt started their career in 2005 as a Prep-Cook Intern at The Abaco Club on Winding Bay. In 2010, they worked as a Marketing and Event Management Intern at The University of Alabama's Creative Campus, focusing on arts and community unity. Kurt then gained experience in the hospitality industry, working as a Guest Services and HR Intern at Discovery Land Company's Baker's Bay in 2011. Kurt continued in the hospitality industry, joining Ross Bridge of PCH Hotels & Resorts in 2015 as a Sales Coordinator, and later taking on roles as a Business Transient Sales Manager and Market Analyst, and finally as an Executive Meeting Manager. In 2018, Kurt joined Pyramid Hotel Group as a Business Transient Sales Manager, overseeing and growing the hotel's business travel market. From 2020 to 2021, they worked at H2 Real Estate | Birmingham as an Area Leasing and Marketing Manager, and also briefly as a Leasing Agent. In 2021, Kurt became the Assistant Director of Sales and Catering at Kessler Collection. Most recently, they joined Abaco Ventures, LLC in 2020 as an Associate, and then moved on to Strategic Solution Partners in 2023 as a Sales Taskforce Consultant. Kurt's work experience shows their adaptability and expertise in sales, marketing, hospitality, and event management.

Kurt Key obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Restaurant, Hotel and Event Management from The University of Alabama, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. Additionally, in November 2011, they obtained a certification as a Certified Hospitality Supervisor from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.
