Richard Castellano has a diverse educational background spanning over several years. Richard began their higher education journey in 1977 at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management, with a general focus. Richard successfully completed their undergraduate program in 1982.

Focusing on enhancing their knowledge and expertise in the field of International Business, Castellano pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Richard embarked on this academic pursuit in 1999 and completed their studies in 2001.

Seeking further specialization and professional qualifications, Castellano placed their focus on maritime studies. In 2017, they enrolled at USCG REC (United States Coast Guard Regional Examination Center) to obtain a Masters captains license. Their license encompasses a range of certifications, including: 100 GTN (Gross Tons Near Coastal) inland waterways and near coastal with sail & tow endorsement. Castellano successfully completed this program in 2027.

In addition to their academic achievements, Castellano earned the certification of Master captain 100 GTN near coastal, awarded by the U.S. Coast Guard in January of 2018.
