Anca Copaescu

Anca Copaescu is the CEO and Co-Founder of Strategikon Pharma. Anca has over fifteen years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in clinical outsourcing, strategic alliance management, and clinical portfolio financial management.

Copaescu began their career at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. in 2012 as the Sr. Director, Head of Clinical Outsourcing and Analytics. In this role, they were responsible for global clinical outsourcing, strategic alliance management, and clinical portfolio financial management. Anca was also a member of the Development Sciences Operations Leadership Team, reporting to the Group VP.

During their four years at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc., Copaescu successfully quadrupled the department. Anca also initiated and led key strategic, cross-functional initiatives, including establishing the clinical outsourcing function, creating a preferred service provider program, and integrating siloed functional outsourcing.

In 2016, Copaescu left BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. to co-found Strategikon Pharma. As CEO of Strategikon Pharma, they continue to specialize in clinical outsourcing, strategic alliance management, and clinical portfolio financial management. Anca is also responsible for leading the company’s innovative clinical technology solutions to automate and enhance vendor and financial portfolio oversight based on clinical system data.

Anca Copaescu has a MSc in Corporate Finance/ACFIN from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Anca also has an MBA in finance & strategy from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business and an MBA in finance from the Czech Management School of Business. Anca also has a BS in International Business from the Academia de Studii Economice din București.
