Pietrofrancesco Apollonio has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Pietrofrancesco began their career as a Master Thesis Student at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in 2013. After completing their thesis, they joined the DTN Research Group at the University of Bologna as a Linux Developer and System Administrator, where they developed software for managing testbeds and virtualization servers.
In 2014, Apollonio joined NoemaLife as a Junior Analyst and later transitioned to the role of Analyst. Pietrofrancesco worked in this position until 2017. Subsequently, they joined Dedalus S.p.A. as a Software Engineer, where they remained until 2019.
From 2019 to 2023, Apollonio worked at Plentific, where they held various roles and responsibilities. Pietrofrancesco started as a Senior Software Engineer and gradually progressed to become a Technical Lead, then a Senior Technical Lead, and ultimately the Director and Head of Backend.
In 2023, Apollonio joined Strategy in Action as the Head of Engineering. This is their most recent position, and they continue to work in this role.
Pietrofrancesco Apollonio obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna in the years 2005 to 2010. Pietrofrancesco then pursued a Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria informatica from the same university, which they completed from 2010 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including "Introduction to Software Architecture," "Learn Unit Testing with Junit & Mockito in 30 Steps," "Scrum Master Training: Case Studies and Confessions," "JavaScript: Understanding the Weird Parts," and "Abilitazione all'Esercizio della Professione di Ingegnere dell'Informazione Sez. A" from different institutions.
