Automation Scientist at Strateos

Matthew Abraham, PhD, PharmD has a strong background in scientific research and automation. Matthew recently joined Strateos as an Automation Scientist, where they are responsible for translating manual assays onto automated platforms and developing high throughput screening methods. This includes designing and executing cell-based assays and synergy screens.

Prior to their current role, Matthew worked at UC San Diego as the Screening Core Instrument Manager. In this position, they operated and maintained an automated screening platform utilized by multiple labs for small molecule screening. Matthew also performed quality control and troubleshooting of various offline systems.

During their time as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC San Diego, Matthew executed high throughput screens for the Plasmodium life cycle and identified several potential therapeutics for further drug development. Matthew also designed counterscreens and conducted target identification studies using next-generation sequencing.

Matthew Abraham, PhD, PharmD has a strong educational background in the field of biological and biomedical sciences. Matthew pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, General at California State University, Los Angeles from 2008 to 2012. Following this, they attended UC San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy from 2012 to 2021, where they obtained their Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Matthew Abraham further expanded their knowledge and expertise in the field by pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences at UC San Diego from 2014 to 2020.
