Valerie Planche has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the arts industry. Valerie has worked as a Director, Actor, and Instructor at various companies such as Theatre Calgary, Citadel Theatre, and the University of Calgary. Valerie has also served as an Assistant Director and an Actor in collaborative adaptations. Throughout their career, they have showcased their talent and expertise in multiple roles within the theatre community.
Valerie Planche pursued their education in the field of theatre practice, starting with a degree in English Literature, Film Studies, and Acting from Concordia University (1982-1984). Valerie then attended the National Theatre School of Canada (1985-1987) before participating in a master class in Acting at the Banff Centre for the Performing Arts (1992-1994). Later, they completed an MFA in Theatre Practice with a focus on Embodied Practice: the Alchemy of Presence at the University of Alberta (2012-2014), followed by a Master of Arts in Theatre Practice from the same institution (2013-2015).
