Derrick Kajner, P. Eng

Derrick Kajner, P. Eng has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Derrick began their career as an Engineering Summer Student at Husky Energy in 2011. Derrick then worked as an Engineering Summer Intern at Upside Engineering Ltd. in 2012. In 2013, they joined Progress Energy Canada Ltd. as a Summer Student.

Kajner then transitioned to Husky Energy, where they held various roles. Derrick started as a Tucker Thermal, Facilities E.I.T in October 2014 and worked until June 2015. Derrick then moved on to Tucker Thermal Development, E.I.T from June 2015 to June 2016 as a Drilling Engineer. Derrick continued with the company as a Cold Production Engineer from May 2017 to February 2019. Following this role, they served as a Thermal Production Engineer from March 2019 to February 2021.

In 2021, Kajner joined Cenovus Energy as a Production Engineer from February 2021 to November 2022. Derrick then transitioned to the role of Site Operations Engineer from September 2022 to April 2023. Currently, they are employed at Strathcona Resources Ltd. as a Field Production Engineer - SK Thermal since April 2023.

Derrick Kajner, P. Eng obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta from 2010 to 2014.
